If you are looking for support for a Project VBA problem not associated with the material in our book please visit the public.microsoft.project.developer news group. You are quite likely to meet Rod, Gary and Dale there!

To connect to the Microsoft newsgroups in Microsoft Outlook Express or another news group reader (the following instructions are for Outlook Express):

  1. Click Tools, Accounts then click the Add button then News to create a new account.
  2. Enter your name as you want it to be seen by other people in the news groups and click Next.
  3. Enter your email address. Note that because of spam email address trawlers it is a good idea to enter your name in the format of: rod AT project-systems DOT co DOT nz. Click Next.
  4. Enter the news server address: msnews.microsoft.com and click Next then Finish.

When you first visit the news group, from the directory of news groups type project to only see project news groups. The English speaking groups are:

public.microsoft.project
public.microsoft.project.developer
public.microsoft.project.server

There are two other groups, but they are due to close shortly so stick with the above. The Microsoft news groups are an excellent source of help because they have a high rate of postings every day and Microsoft MVPs recognized by Microsoft for their valuable contributions make sure all posts are accurate and useful to you.
